School was alright compared to the first days of previous years; obviously because nothing changes this year except for homerooms and timetables. Everything is off to a good start. Just like last year, teachers are scaring the shit out of us - telling us about exams and assessments, but i'm sure it works on some people.
I've realised that we can't perform a musical piece that we've already performed in Year 11 in Year 12, which really leaves me clueless. We also have to perform our piece infront of Brigidine at the end of February, so i basically have a month to choose a piece (most likely from my Third Grade AMEB book) and to learn it well enough to play it without embarrassment. This isn't a "oh, i won't practise today, i can't be bothered", because this time i know i have to play it infront of other people, and not just my piano teacher. It looks like i have some work ahead of me.
In some ways i think it's good that we had so many assessments over the break, it just means that we have less to deal with this term.
I must admit, worrying about school was pushed to the side while i was shitting myself about my hair, seeing as the blonde was still visible. It was barely noticeable last night, but it seems that the black dye had washed out even more today, and was highly noticeable (or so i've been told, i didn't check the mirror before i left). We were sitting in assembly, Mr. Forrester was checking for hair, he walked straight past me and didn't notice, i was i was in the all clear. But then, we were having a year meeting, and my name is on the list - i had to go to Mr. Salisbury's office. I narrowly escaped going home, it seems like it was my lucky day. I couldn't of blamed anyone if i did go home, it was my fault after all. I'm dying it back to black tonight, and my mum bought some Indian hair dye that supposedly lasts three months, so we'll see how that goes.
I'm really worried now that my computer won't be able to take Vista, i'm upgrading to 1.5GB RAM, but is it really enough? We'll just see, i guess the only option is buying a new computer if it doesn't run smoothly. I've done a 'Vista-able' check, and it says everything on my computer is in the all clear, according to the minimum requirements Microsoft sets out, this does not at all mean that it will run smoothly. My computer doesn't even run smoothly now, although i think that's due to some RAM issues, i've been informed (by a program) that when i startup, 350mb of my 456mb RAM is already been used, even when i've tried to minimise the amount of programs that start when Windows starts.
